Dylan was in his Senedd office, as Leader of the Senedd he had to devise schedules and whatnot. It had been some weeks before he was proclaimed a candidate for Lib Dem Leader. Today, he received a call on his mobile phone, the number was private but it told him what he had been fearful of. His wife, Elizabeth Goldburp had suffered from a heart attack and was in the local hospital.

He was now with her, holding her hand as she lay in her hospital bed, fingers going threw her steel grey hair. Dylan couldn't be more thankful to the Doctor and Nurses for keeping her alive. The media was outside, already broadcasting the news but Dylan was not caring about them, the person he cared about was his wife.

"It's going to be okay," Dylan said to her tearfully. "I'm going to look after you now, Liz." He had written on a receipt from an Esso petrol garage with the spare black-inked pen he carried with him.

"Chairman Sly of Welsh Liberal Democrat Executive.

As you may have been informed by the media. My wife did in fact suffer a minor heart attack and is in recovery.

She is the love of my life, the thought of losing her is too painful.

So I am writing to you, to inform you of my candidacy withdrawal.

Minister D. Goldburp."

The receipt now a letter was photographed and published on Social media while the real thing was folded into an envelope and sent to the Chairman's home by Dylan's staff. He needed to protect his wife, she needed him now. Reaching out to the tissue box beside the bed, he took a square and wrote another letter.

"First Minister Lloyd Goodwin of Wales.

Congratulations on your unopposed victory as Leader.

The media is correct regarding my wife's health. She suffered a minor heart attack in the early hours of the morning, attending to our garden.

My priorities are her recovery. So I am resigning as Minister for Education & Welsh Language and Leader of the Senedd immediately.

Member of the Senedd for Cardiff Central - Dylan Goldburp."

This too was published to the world via social media. Dylan didn't care what they thought. His mind was focusing on his wife, the woman who taught him as a boy and loved him as he loved her.
